Benefits of Laser Dentistry

Painless and precise dental care

01

Minimally Invasive

The precision of laser dentistry means treatments are less invasive compared to traditional methods, resulting in less discomfort and swelling. Laser treatments promote faster healing, allowing you to return to your daily activities sooner.

03

Less Pain and Anxiety

Many patients experience less pain during and after laser procedures, reducing the need for anesthesia and alleviating dental anxiety.

02

Presevatin of Healthy Tissue

We us the Fotona LightWalker laser to target only the affected areas, preserving more of your natural tooth structure and gum tissue. There is no direct heating of the pulp, thereby reducing the risk of accidentally damaging dental tissue.

04

Decreased Risk of Infection

The laser sterilizes the treatment area, minimizing the risk of bacterial infections.

Treatments Offered through Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry encompasses a wide range of treatments, offering significant advantages over traditional methods. Some of the treatments we provide include:

  • Cavity Treatment: Lasers can help prepare teeth for fillings, often without the need for drilling or anesthesia. It is a particularly suitable mode of treatment for children or adults with dental phobia.

  • Gum Disease and Periodontal Treatment: Lasers are used to remove diseased gum tissue and promote regeneration of healthy tissue.  Wavelength-optimized treatments for minimally invasive periodontal therapy can create favorable conditions for healing periodontal tissues by removing the diseased epithelial lining of the periodontal pocket, removing microbial biofilm and calculus from the root surface and sealing the pocket after treatment with a stable fibrin clot.

  • Peri-Implantitis Treatment: The Fotona laser can selectively removal of granulation tissue from the alveolar bone and connective tissue. The bactericidal effect on the surgical site is highly effective and the implant surface is completely cleaned without chemicals. The subsequent treatment step promotes faster healing by decontaminating and biomodulating the tissue. Inflammation, swelling, and bleeding of soft tissue lesions, which may lead to bone loss, can be handled without surgery, and healthy peri-implant tissue assures greater long-term implant success.

  • Cosmetic Gum Contouring: For patients looking to improve their smile, lasers can reshape gum lines with minimal discomfort and downtime.

  • Root Canal Therapy: Lasers effectively clean and disinfect root canals, enhancing the success of these procedures. The Fotona endodontic treatment with photoacoustic irrigation successfully addresses the major goals of endodontic treatment: to clean, debride and disinfect anatomically complex root canal systems, including lateral canals and dentinal tubules.

  • Biopsy and Lesion Removal: Lasers allow for precise removal of tissue for biopsy or the treatment of oral lesions, with minimal discomfort and fast healing time. For aesthetic skin treatment, it could be used for vascular skin treatment and skin lesion removal.

  • Teeth Whineting: Laser-assisted teeth whitening is a quick and painfree process. The Fotona laser's patented tooth whitening makes use of the fact that the Er:YAG laser wavelength has an absorption peak in water. This allows minimal undesirable thermal burden on the tooth, and the tooth whitening speed can be safely increased by 5 – 10 times.
